Frequently Asked Questions

Why are PartsTrader and OEConnection working together?
Both PartsTrader and OEConnection have received consistent feedback from customers requesting the opportunity to simplify the workflow needed achieve manufacturer-sponsored pricing programs.

What are the benefits of this joint project?
Repairers with dealers participating in this project will see several benefits:
  • Time savings - Repairers will no longer need to submit the order through CollisionLink® to receive available manufacturer-sponsored pricing programs.

  • Increased accuracy - Since repairers no longer have to submit the same job into both PartsTrader and CollisionLink, the likelihood of double orders will be reduced.  As a result, fewer returns will be initiated.

  • Easier to access pricing programs - The joint integration automatically identifies any applicable manufacturer-sponsored pricing program.

What do I have to do to take advantage of this integration?
As a repairer, all you need to do is write an estimate requesting alternative part types as allowed by the applicable DRP guidelines.  The integration will notify your dealer in the CollisionLink application, that the quote request is a PartsTrader request.  The integration automatically identifies any available manufacturer-sponsored pricing programs.

What will this cost my shop?
There is no cost to repairers using PartsTrader.

What happens if I submit don't submit an estimate requesting alternative part types, that is, I request a quote for all OEM parts?
Quote requests submitted with all OE parts will be quoted on as they are today, requiring two separate workflows to obtain any available manufacturer-sponsored pricing program.  If you wish to take advantage of any available manufacturer-sponsored pricing programs, you would need to submit the job through CollisionLink as well as PartsTrader.

Will my aftermarket suppliers still be able to quote on my requests?
Yes.  This integration will not affect the ability of your aftermarket, recycling or specialty suppliers to quote on your requests.

What data is PartsTrader sharing with OEC?
PartsTrader will only share the necessary data your participating dealer needs to process a quote and an order transaction.

Are PartsTrader and OEC merging?
No, this is a joint program between the two companies, OEConnection and PartsTrader.  With this integration project, the PartsTrader and CollisionLink products will work in conjunction with each other to simplify procurement process users of both systems.
